Roland Dale Crites, Born in Osnabruck Centre, Ontario on August 21 1956. Son to Glenn and Thelma Crites.
He was the Loving husband of 40 years to Kathryn, Father to Matthew, Albert, and Valerie. Grandfather to Logan, Mason, and Colt. He grew up in a large family with his brothers and sisters Wade, Eric, Sheila, Bea, Connie, Cindy, Glenda, and Carolyn. Brother through marriage to Randy and Karen. He was very close to his family and was always there to help, he loved them all deeply and they loved him.
He was a very talented man who could figure out how to fix just about anything, by trade he was a master cabinet maker. Throughout his life he helped many friends and family with all sorts of repairs and creations. He could answer nearly any question and had a unique perspective on how to solve problems. Roland’s wit and sense of humor always caught people by surprise given his quiet nature.
Roland’s favorite event each year was when they would all get together for a party, no matter where it was. He loved to cook and bake, his butter tarts will never be matched, a great loss for anyone that was lucky enough to get to get to taste them. Gardening was a favored hobby of his finding a peace in its tranquility. He truly was a jack of all trades.
He was a mountain of a man that his family could count on to give his support no matter what. Always there to help when needed. Roland’s absence will resonate through everyone he touched throughout his life.
There will be a celebration of Roland’s life October 5th between 1-4pm at The Legion in Morrisburg, Ontario all are welcomed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The War Amps of Canada his favored charity.
A special thanks to Dr Kruszelnicki as well as the nurses and staff at the Perth hospital, the nurses from Bayshore and the OHaH. Specifically for the amazing care, kindness and professionalism that were provided to Roland allowing him to spend his final days in the comfort of his home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lannin Funeral Home.
