DEARLING, Bonnie
Bonnie Lu Dearling passed suddenly at Southlake Regional Hospital Newmarket on December 11, 2024, in her seventy-fifth year.
She was born July 27, 1950, to parents RJ and Bernice Totten. Bonnie spent many years of her childhood in the city of Toronto, before moving to Shelburne. There, she married the love of her life, raised her three beautiful children, became a doting nana and great nana, and was a pillar in the community. She spent many years on the executives of minor baseball and minor hockey, was a dedicated member of the legion and the Kinette Club. Some of the fondest memories of her include running Bonnie’s Bombers, the Thursday night men’s baseball team and bartending the infamous wing nights at the legion.
She will be forever remembered for her famous devilled eggs, her open-door policy for her children’s friends, and her pure and fierce stubbornness. She had the utmost love for her family that was only rivaled by her love for Criminal Minds, buying figure skating dresses, giving her grand-dogs Kongs filled with peanut butter, and yelling at baseball umpires.
She will always and continue to be the loving wife of 38 years to Keith and proud mom of Rob (Kim), Erin (Mike) and Steve (Donna). She will forever be the deeply cherished nana of Ryleigh (Aaric), Bradyn (Maddy), Jaxyn and Jaykob, and adored great nana of Noa, Beau and Sully. The loss of Bonnie has left endless ache and sorrow, and she will be missed forever.
