Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Bluewater Health – CEE, Walter Gerald Nicholls passed away at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Laura Nicholls (n. Pangman). Loving father of Walter Scott Nicholls. Cherished grandfather of Megan, Rebecca, Angela, Walter Caleb and great-grandfather of Emersyn and Adalee. Dear brother of Louise Carter. Predeceased by parents Walter and Hazel Nicholls and nephew Eric Carter. Walt was a Veteran, Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, he enjoyed NASCAR races, The New York Yankees and loved to travel. He was a World War History buff and a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Corunna Br. 447, Royal British Legion St. James’s Br., Royal Canadian Naval Association Peregrine (Halifax) Br., and a Lifetime Member of HMCS Sackville Memorial Trust in Halifax. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Legion service at 5:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. with cremation to follow.
