“Stepping on shore and finding it heaven” Mom went home to be with her Lord and Saviour after 100 blessed years surrounded by loving family on Sunday December 29, 2024 at Bluewater Health. Born in Maesteg, South Wales and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Predeceased by her parents, Rachel and Evan Hopkins and her siblings, Dolena, Mary, David and John. She nursed at St. Joseph Hospital in Sarnia and later changed career and became a Correctional Officer at Sarnia City Jail. After retiring she loved volunteering at nursing homes, playing the piano and giving of her time. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and later years at Huron Baptist Church, Sarnia. Beloved wife of Frank Marshall (deceased 1986). Dear Mother to Rae (Dan) Borody of Sarnia & Ruth Jones of Lake Country, BC. Grandmother to Jennifer (Evan) Garst; Mark (Lara) Borody; Paul (Vanessa) Borody; Charissa (Ethan) Burnside; Jennica Jones & Kayla Jones. Great Grandmother to Mikayla (Joshua), Seth, Ava, Colson, Mathew, Julia, Austin, Hunter, Kiara, Skyler (deceased), Kesler & Eowyn. Great Great Grandmother to Zyra. Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Palliative Care doctors and nurses who gave their kind and caring support and also PSW and nurses from Bayshore. Visitation at HURON BAPTIST CHURCH, 1285 Michigan Ave., Sarnia, on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Huron Baptist Church or ShareWord Global Canada (formerly Gideons). A private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
