JANUSZKIEWICZ (SAGAN), Janina “Jean” – Jean passed away with her family by her side at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Chester for 71 wonderful years. Dear mother of Richard (Pam), John (Krys), Christopher (Franca) and Denny (Julie). Loving grandmother of Jennifer Ellwood (Tyson), Rick Januszkiewicz (Sara), Jason Januszkiewicz (Amanda), James Januszkiewicz (Chantal), Bryan Januszkiewicz (Amy), Stephen Januszkiewicz, Michael Januszkiewicz (Kirsten), Randy Januszkiewicz (Samantha), Taylor Januszkiewicz and Ashley Januszkiewicz. Great-grandmother of Haley, Jorja, Cameron, Asher, Nixon, Isabella, Clara, Logan, Eden, Hunter, Zoey, Leiah, Isabella and Giavanna. Sister of Bronia Kapuscinski (late Lutek). Aunt of Irene Simankowicz (Tony), Les Kapuscinski (Alice) and Richard Kapuscinski (Tracey). Also surviving are cousins Liz Stancic-Mitchell, Zajda families and the Walawender families and best friends Marysia Grzywa (late Chester) and Janina Ptak (late Stefan). Predeceased by parents Thomasz and Anna Sagan, granddaughter Kayla Januszkiewicz, baby brother Tadziu, aunt Aniela Lupa (Eugene), sister-in-law Regina Hafner (Alex) and mother-in-law Anastasia Fiedukowicz (Tony). Jean was born in Poland. With struggles growing up during the war, Jean and her family came to Canada in the late 1940’s. She was known as the “Pierogi Queen” within the Sarnia Polish community. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Women’s League. Jean’s family would like to thank the nurses, support staff and doctors of Bluewater Health, Sarnia and Petrolia sites for their wonderful care. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, from Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with prayers being offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery . As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the charity of their choice.
