Obituary of Catharina Kentie
On Saturday August 17, 2024 at the age of 89, Catharina (Teena) Kentie ran to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Teena was born in The Hague, Holland Nov 24, 1934, to parents Gerardus and Alie Vandenberg. She followed the love of her life Jacob to Canada in 1955 and they were married in Fort Erie in July of that same year. They put down roots in this area, raised 2 sons here, and became well-loved members of this community. Teena will be dearly missed by her son Peter and daughter in law Lynda, Granddaughters Joy McEwen (Matthew) and Laura Kentie-Warner (Andrew), Grandsons David (Ashley), Gordon (Brittney), Peter (Jordyn), Christian (Kristen) and her sister Tonny (Gerard) Bennehey. Nanny is lovingly remembered by her 14 great grandchildren Naomi, Eden, Micah, Katie, Jordyn, Rowan, Audrey, Andrew, Logyn, Poppy Mae, Walter, Norah, Anderson and Charlotte. She was predeceased by her husband Jacob (2003), her son Robert (2018), her daughter in law Irma (2023), and her great grandson Theodore (2021). Teena is remembered fondly by many other family and friends in Canada and Holland. Visitation will take place at Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road N, Ridgeway on Sunday August 25, 2024 from 5-8 PM. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday August 26, 2024 at 11 AM at Trinitylife Church, 5348 Sherkston Rd, Sherkston with visitation to commence one hour prior. Internment to follow directly after services in the church cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Trinitylife Church. Donations in memory may be made to Trinitylife Church or UrbanPromise Toronto
