Obituary of Richard Mattice
Richard (Rick) Mattice
1951 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Mattice, who passed away on Oct 15, 2024 in Ridgetown, Ontario, at the age of 73. Born in Cornwall, Ontario in 1951 to Ralph and Cecile Mattice, both of whom predeceased him, Rick was a devoted family man, beloved by all who knew him.
After a distinguished career as a Project Manager in the Toronto area, Rick moved to Ridgetown to enjoy his well-deserved retirement. He leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy Mattice (née Keir), his cherished son, Edward Mattice, and Edward’s wife, Sara. Rick was the proud grandfather of Hailey Bamford and Jacob Bamford, who will deeply miss his warmth and wisdom. He is also survived by his brother, David Mattice, and sister-in-law, Lise.
Known for his leadership and problem-solving skills, Rick was admired in both his professional and personal life. He was a creative and talented handyman, never facing a project he couldn’t complete with skill and passion. He was also a kind and loyal friend, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Rick’s life on Friday, October 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
