Robbie Joe Poje
July 30, 1978 – December 2, 2023
In loving memory of Robbie Poje, age 45 years, who passed away unexpectedly at his home in Red Lake on December 2, 2023.
Robbie is survived by his mother Patti Poje, son Preston Burton-Poje of Red Lake, sister Janice Poje of Balmertown, his dog Diesel, and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Poje.
Robbie enjoyed working with his hands. He was an amazing carpenter and equally wonderful at growing his beautiful gardens every summer. He enjoyed camping, fishing, skidooing. He was an animal lover, and this was apparent if you had seen him with his dogs Molly and Diesel.
Robbie was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, and friend. If you asked, he would give you the shirt off his back if it was going to help a friend through a difficult time. He always took the time to check up on people he loved even when he wasn’t having the best of days. His chuckle and side smile he gave while being a good listener, was a gift in itself. He lived for his son, Preston was the light of his life and made him proud.
A memorial service will be held at the Red Lake Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 16th at 6 pm. A private interment will follow at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
God Called
God looked around his garden, and found and empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arm around you, and lifted you to rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills are hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered, “Peace Be Thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone
