Barry’s Obituary
Barry James Bryan, January 2, 1946 to December 18, 2023 sadly and unexpectedly passed away from this plane of existence and went to be with those who passed before him.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra of 47 years And 3 sons. Robb of Winnipeg, Micheal of Granum (wife Krista and 2 grandsons Douglas and Tiernan), Matthew of granum and an older sister Jean in Edmonton. He did have a fourth, Jeffery who had passed sadly in 1986. He was a proud and stoic man.
He passed away peacefully unexpectedly on December 18, 2023. Barry was born and bred in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 2nd, 1946 to loving parents Ernest and Olga Bryan. His sister Mary left this plane of existence earlier than he.
He followed his in-laws to Red Lake, Ontario in 1979 and began life there as security and then as a miner working with, trying and mentoring many for 36 years working till the age of 70. He retired then took a year off and then returned to the work force to stock shelves at Balmertown Food Fare until his illness.
Barry (or Pa to so many of the younger generation) called him such and inspired multiple generations. He always had time, a kind word or just an ear to such. His love for his Winnipeg Blue Bombers was known as well as his Minnesota Vikings and Winnipeg Jets. He was a man of few words, integrity, honesty and a quiet power was his trademarks but when he did speak, people listened.
He wasn’t big on conversations nor funerals. He would hate this write up being who he was, a MP in the army, husband, father, friend and a helper. He will be greatly missed.
As per Barry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
