SMITH, Rodger Vincent – It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Vincent Smith announce his passing on Monday December 23, 2024 at the Welland Hospital, peacefully with his wife and daughters by his side at the age of 83 years.
Survived by his loving wife Marlene, daughters Cheryl (Marc), Aynsley (Chris), Adrienne (Scott). Loving grandfather of Bryanna (Jordan), Brandon (Sara), Alicia (Andrew) and Jordan. Great grandfather of Kaius, Matilda and Leifur. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Ruth Smith.
Vincent and his father were the proud owners of W.J. Smith Ltd. and for the past 32 years until late September in his 83rd year, he worked alongside his daughters and grandchildren at Smith Optical Vision & Hearing Care, which was one of the many joys in his life.
He graduated from Appleby College and the Ontario College of Art. One of Vincent’s greatest honors was serving as Captain and Commanding Officer of the 79th RCAC Squadron (Air Cadets) Port Colborne for 20 years.
We all love and miss you so much and you will always be cherished in our hearts and memories forever!
As per his wishes, a private family funeral has taken place.
Arrangements entrusted to Davidson Funeral Home 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne.
If so desired, memorial donations in memory of Vincent may be made to Port Cares.
