It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our matriarch, Madeline Clifford of Norwich on May 16th, 2024 in her 90th year.
Beloved wife and best friend to Leo for 74-1/2 years.
Devoted mother to Gary (Julia), Carol, John (Debbie), Gayle, and Dennis (Lisa).
Cherished grandmother to Tracy (Darcy), Chris (Kendra), Scott (Melanie), Tom (Lesley), Joe (Kristy), Brett, and Anna (Ryan).
She will be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Pierson, Kasey, Avery, Caleb, Keagan, Joe, Ian, Ava, Raegan and Deacon.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Ada Morris.
Predeceased by her sisters and best friends Audrey (Adam), Elaine (Mike), Myrna (Bill), her parents Ken and Agnes Attlebery.
Madeline was born on June 10, 1934, the youngest of four girls. She married young, worked hard in tobacco, farming and raising her family and has instilled that in all of her children. She also enjoyed life, dancing, cards and hosting large family gatherings several times a year. Her passion was her family, not just her children but all the Attleberys, Malcolms and Cliffords.
Special thanks to Care Partners Team 4, the PSW’s, nurses and doctors from the Woodstock General Hospital and Caressant Care in Courtland for your care and compassion during her stays.
Arrangements entrusted to the Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020. Cremation has taken place, with a private family service to be held at the Bookton Cemetery at a later date.
A celebration of life, will be held on Sunday, June 9th at the Norwich Legion from 2 – 4 pm. Donations in memory of Madeline, may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society.
