Peacefully entered into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus, at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Almona Haws (nee Reynolds) of Picton, died in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Lionel and loving mother of Carolyn Courneyea (Ed) of Picton and the late Gary (surviving Cathy). Dearest grandmother of Theresa (Jason), Corinna (Tim), Andrew (Natasha), Angela (Tim), great grandmother of Cassandra (Mitchell), Blake, Lydia, Everett, Ruby, Austin, Heidi, Samuel, Josie, John David, Dahlia, and great great grandmother of Kinsley, Everley, Braxton, Jett and Elijah. Remembered by her siblings Marilyn Crowe (late Bud Gregory), Larry Reynolds and predeceased by George (late Bea), Bruce Reynolds (late Betty) and Ruth Pettingill (late George). Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. The family wish to extend their thanks and gratitude to the management and staff of Hospice Prince Edward, nurses Angel & Karen, especially PSW Devi, and the nurse practitioners Ali and Brad for their compassion and care provided to Almona.
Mrs. Haws rested at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). Funeral Service was held in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bloomfield on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1 pm with visitation for 1 hour prior to the Service. Interment Glenwood Cemetery. If desired, donations to Hospice Prince Edward, Emmanuel Baptist Church or the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation “Back the Build” would be appreciated by the family.
