Peacefully at the PRHC on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in her 100th year.
Thea was born the youngest of 9 children in Amsterdam, later caring for her mother until she passed. She immigrated to Canada in 1956, following her sister’s family and married her love Harmen in 1957. Widowed after 32 years of marriage, Thea kept her involvement in the Seniors Group at Stewart Hall and CWL at Our Lady of Assumption Parish. Thea loved her Euchre Card Game groups, and any social event where she could make new friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Harmen (Tracy) Minnema, Johanna (Doug) Parks, grandchildren, Curtis (Tara) Parks, Morgen (Amber) Parks, Nyomi Minnema, and great grandchildren Nora, Theo, Landon, and many nieces and nephews both in Canada and in the Netherlands. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church – Douro, 300 County Ro. 8, Douro, on Monday, November 13th at 11 a.m. Visitation at the church 1 hour prior. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Douro. Charitable donations to Our Lady of Assumption Parish, or Community Care Peterborough would be appreciated.
