Rosemary passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hospice Peterborough on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the age of 67. Rosemary will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. She was the dear wife of Gary Assels, loving mother to Stephanie Mann (née Smith), Andre Smith (Emily), the late Heather Smith and stepmother to Angela Jackmann (Mick). Proud grandmother of Hayden, Cooper, Samuel, Jacob, and Tyler. Dear sister of the late Jane Lisson, Susan Cummings (John), Steven Adam (Sue), the late David Adam (Shari) and Cathy Calderwood (Ian), Maggie Wright (Jim), Wayne Adam (Mona), Kimberly Byrne (Mike). Daughter of the late Shirley Kock (née Johns) and the late Frank Adam, and stepdaughter of Jessie Adam Stewart. Rosemary will be remembered fondly by her extended family, nieces, nephews, and many friends, and by her co-workers, friends, and students at Master’s College and Seminary.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough in memory of Rosemary would be greatly appreciated. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Ashburnham Funeral Home – 840 Armour Road, Peterborough. A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow. Condolences may be shared, and donations made by visiting www.ashburnhamfuneral.ca.
Rosemary’s family would like to thank all the people at the Palliative Unit at PRHC, and those at Hospice Peterborough for the compassionate end-of-life care. You gave her, and our family a special gift.
