THOMPSON, Robert ‘Bob’
Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Barbara (née Kempt) of 55 years. Dear father of Derrick, Adriane (Ronald), and Christine (Rainer). Proud grandfather of Toni, William, James, and Nicholas and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Bob will be remembered by his extended family and friends. The family would like to thank everyone who helped Bob and his family over the years, as well as the PSW’s from Nightingale, the doctors, nurses, and staff from PRHC – Palliative Unit, and the Community paramedics for their utmost care and compassion throughout Bob’s journey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Peterborough Humane Society. A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – 748 Cumberland Avenue, Peterborough on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM with visitation commencing one hour prior. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough. Condolences may be shared and donations made by visiting www.ashburnhamfuneral.ca.
