Passed away peacefully with his children holding his hands at Lakeridge Gardens in Ajax, Ontario on Friday, September 29, 2023 in his 86th year. He is now reunited with sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, the Late Heather Stevenson (née Tupper).
Beloved father to daughter, Wendy (Mark) Murack, and son, Greg Stevenson. Amazing Papa to granddaughter, Lauren Nolan (Michael) and proud Great-Papa to Lilah and Magnus Nolan. Beloved brother to Jean Langley (predeceased), Lorna Stuhler, and Hazel Stevenson of South Africa. Much loved by many friends and extended family in South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.
Bob was born in Benoni, South Africa in August, 1938, married Heather in 1959 and moved to England to travel and work for the next several years. He returned to South Africa to start a career in the newly emerging world of Computer programming. In 1967, he made the very bold move to immigrate to Canada to give his children a better life. Bob and Heather moved to Bridgenorth/ Peterborough area in 1996 and loved living in their home on the lake. Through his career he was credited with writing and creating computer programs and systems that will continue to go before Him in the banking system. Bob loved golf, music, travelling, and enjoying good times with family and friends. We will miss you very much.
Special thanks to all the staff at Lakeridge Gardens, Ajax that made Bob’s last years, fun, and interactive, and surrounded with caring people.
A private graveside committal at Rosemount Cemetery in Peterborough will take place, with a date to still be set.
