FLOOD, Louise (nee Mann) passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday October 20, 2024, in her 66th year.
Raised in Smith Township (Selwyn), Ontario Louise lived a life full of love for and dedication to her family. Predeceased by her parents, William Mann and Marion Mann (nee McMullen), Louise is survived by her baby brother, Steve Mann.
Louise and her husband Bernie of 47 years, purchased their first home in Peterborough in the early 1980’s, where they raised their two loving children, Vanessa Brooke Flood and Hillary Jeanne Flood. A natural caregiver, Louise started her career as a nurse earning her station as the Head of Nurses for Empress Gardens. Following a workplace injury, Louise retired early from nursing to become a fierce stay-at-home mom. She devoted her life to her children acting as manager to her youngest daughter Hillary’s childhood acting career while also enthusiastically supporting and nurturing her eldest daughter Vanessa’s pursuit in the visual arts. Louise was a loving Mother-in-law to Peter Rellinger and MeeMaw to her grandson Hudson Rellinger. An adoring Aunt to Danielle Miller, Ashley Miller, Michael Miller, Jacqueline Flood, Blake Flood, Rachel Mann and Evan Mann. Louise’s soft heart also extended to her beloved family pets, she will be deeply missed by her CavaPoo Cayenne and two cats Babe and Cuddles.
Her generous and caring nature was an inspiration to anyone who had the privilege to know her. Louise found great joy in providing a loving and supportive environment to many wayward children in the neighbourhood, opening her heart and home to anyone in need.
Louise will be forever cherished, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family.
Visitation will take place at the Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, October 24, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 25 in the Highland Chapel at 5:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life/ Irish Wake at the Highland Park Funeral Centre. Burial will take place at the Highland Park Cemetery Saturday Morning at 10:00 am.
