Kenneth “Ken” Hynes Obituary
HYNES, Kenneth Peter – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Ken, on June 15, 2024 at the PRHC. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Alice Hynes (McMahon), Ken was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital on August 23, 1953. He was the loving, thoughtful, and kind brother to Sandy Cameron (Dick d. 2019), Jane MacKay (John) (Gary Cinnamon d. 2000), Doug (Patricia) of California, Susan McKenzie (Keith), Daniel (Lynda) of Calgary, Lori Perks (Larry d. 2018), and Christine Hynes. Ken was a generous Uncle to Peter, Leslie, Colin, Jason, Lucas, Lauren, Caleigh, Carly, Logan, Tad, Ryan, Adam, John, Alexandra, Matthew, and Evan, as well as great-Uncle, and close personal friend to the Kazowski family.
Ken was a skilled tradesman working throughout Ontario in his early career and spent the last 22 years employed at the Peterborough Clinic before retiring. He enjoyed traveling extensively to pursue his appreciation of history, art and music. He was a generous, independent, and humble man, who was there for anyone who needed a helping hand.
We wish to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the E.R. and ICU Depts. for their compassionate exemplary care of our brother. A celebration of Ken’s life and Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Cathedral on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a private family interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a reception at The Knights of Columbus Hall following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider the PRHC Foundation or a charity of your choice.
