O’BRIEN, Fergus Patrick (Long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council #798 and Charter Member of Sir Knight Aubrey Allan Assembly #2571)
Fergus passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of 68 years to Maureen (nee Murray). Loving and devoted father of the late Murray (Patricia and Terry), Erin (Gerard), Stephen (Laurie), Carrie Lynn (John) and Lisa (Ken). Cherished grandpa of 14 and great grandfather of 15 all of whom he adored. Dear brother of the late Vince, Kevin (Theresa), the late Tommy (the late Patricia), Paul (Mary) and Mary (Pete). Predeceased by his parents Thomas O’Brien and Agnes (nee Coughlin). Fergus will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and extended family. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00 PM. Knights of Columbus Prayers will be at 4:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. JOSEPH’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 300 County Rd 8., Douro on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Reception to follow in the St. Joseph’s Church Hall. In memory of Fergus and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
