Maljevac, Dragutin (Drago)
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Drago, on Friday June 21, 2024 at home, after a short but courageous battle with Cancer at 72 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Cathy (Batley) of 46 years, Their daughters Michelle (Chris Hie), Angela and Katie Hughes (Dustin). The loves of his life, his 6 grandchildren Owen Morton -Maljevac, Emma and Nikolas Moloney, Ashton Menogue, and Hunter and Finn Hughes.
He was a special dad to Carter Batley, Steve Moloney and Chris Menogue.
Drago was born in Croatia to Parents Barka (D) and Ivan (D). He had a brother Josip (D) who passed in October 2023. He immigrated to Canada May 1st 1970. Son-in-law to Art and Margaret Batley). Bother-in-law to Jane, Todd (Corrine Brown), Charlene Villeneuve (Wayne McMillan), Jamie (Angela Ayotte), Wayne (D). Uncle Drago, Uncle Howard and Robert to his 2 nieces and 9 nephews.
Drago worked hard at making a home for his family. Worked construction at Alf Curtis Home Improvements, and Drove Tractor Trailer for E.G. Gray. He delivered papers during his retirement to keep busy.
Funeral Service entrusted to Highland Park Funeral Centre
Visitation on Thursday, July 4 from 2:00 to 3:00pm
Service in the Highland Chapel at 3:00pm:
Burial to follow.
Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion 1500 Lansdowne St.W. from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Donation to – St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School Playground Equipment Fund
