Passed away peacefully at Empress Gardens in Peterborough on June 11, 2024 in his 91st year. Boomer is survived by his wife of 36 years, Eleanor and his children Bill (Tracy), Brian (Cyndy) and Nancy (Gord) and step-daughters Terry (John) and Sue (Howard). He is predeceased by his brother Roy and sister Ruth Corkran and will leave behind his 7 grandchildren, Chelsea, Taylor, Chet, Shannon, Connor, Hogan and Brianne, as well as 6 great grandchildren.
Boomer was born and raised in Ottawa and had a career of 35 years with the National Research Council where he worked as a model maker, producing research materials made from wood and later plastics. After he retired, he and Eleanor enjoyed many winters in Cocoa, Florida and summers at Skyline Trailer Park in Ennismore. As his dementia progressed, he was cared for lovingly by Ellie. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at PRHC and the staff at Empress Gardens for their care of Boomer in his final years.
