David Alexander Bacchus
April 18th, 1943 – November 20th, 2023. It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Bacchus announce his passing, peacefully in his 80th year, in Peterborough, Ontario.
Dear son of the late Alexander and Madeline Bacchus. Beloved brother to the late Carolyn Magee (Aubrey). Cherished Uncle to David Bradley (Jennifer) and Karyn Arthur (Jonathan). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Adam, Steph, Kaitlyn, Madeline, Grace and his 1st cousin Graeme Harnett and family.
A very special thank you to Phill and Barb Rimmer for their care and devotion to David. With their commitment and support, David spent the last years of his life comfortable and most importantly, with dignity. Our family will be forever grateful.
He spent his career with General Motors in Scarborough and then Oshawa. David also had a passion for cars, spurred by the love he had for his second car, a 1969 Firebird. A picture of the man and his machine proudly remained on display for decades, in his home.
What the family will miss the most was his infectious sense of humour. His quick and sarcastic wit was spectacular when unleashed. Some may have called him different or even odd. To us he was just Dave or Uncle Dave. We loved him and we will miss him.
Per David’s wishes, there will be no service. Internment will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto in memory of David.
