Carl Sobie Obituary
Sobie, Carl (October 8, 1936 to May 27, 2024), Carl is the last surviving member of his family of 9 brothers and 1 sister. Predeceased by his wife, Joy (Sadler). Survived by his loving wife, Jean (Hough). Loving father of Suzanne (deceased) (Norman Beaudoin), Colleen (Rick Visser), Michelle (Kevin Dunn), and Valerie (Mitch Craig). Also a loving step-father to Greg Hough, Julie (Jim Macleod), and Carrie Johnston (Peter Roy). Grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Carl studied engineering at the University of Michigan and taught Math at Kenner and Crestwood for many years. He was also a skilled carpenter and helped many with their renovation projects. He proudly followed the accomplishments of his many grand-children. Carl will be dearly missed by his friends Jesse and Pat Weller and former son-in-law, Roger Currier. Friends will be received at the Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, May 30th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm followed by a short service in the Highland Park Chapel at 1:30pm. Interment Highland Park Cemetery followed by a reception.
The family would like to thank the staff at Princess Gardens and Hospice Peterborough for their care of Carl in his final days.
