Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late George (Butch). Loving mother of Paula Freeburn (Randy) and Brian Downer (Tracey). Special nana of Brittany and Cassidy Freeburn. Fondly remembered by Brian and Tracey’s children and grandchildren. Sister of Sandra Kaes, Brian Metcalfe (the late Terri), Sharon Heal (Mark), Rosalie Keating (Joe), and the late Rick Metcalfe (surviving spouse Wilma). Daughter of the late Fred and Edith Metcalfe. Loving aunt of her many nieces and nephews. Brenda will be fondly remembered by her bingo partner, Betty, her dear friends, and family. Special thanks to the staff of B2 for their incredible care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home – 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 1:30 PM with visitation commencing one hour prior. Reception to follow the service. Private family interment at Highland Park Cemetery. Donations to Peterborough Humane Society or Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) would be greatly appreciated.
