Arthur “Art” Stenson Obituary
Surrounded by his loving family, Art passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 75. He leaves behind his beloved wife Lynda (nee Fitzgerald), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and laughter. Art was a devoted father to Fred Stenson (Lorianne) and Carley Stenson (Joshua Lumsden), and a proud grandfather to Briella Lumsden, who all brought immense joy to his life.
Art was cherished by his sister Sally Carter and late brother Bob Stenson (Doreen). Brother-in-law to Al Fitzgerald (Donna) and Colleen Carter (Dave), and a much-loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Art’s dearest friend of nearly 50 years Roger Bass (Shelley Lewis) will miss his companionship dearly, and will never forget the good times shared.
Preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Bernice (nee Weart) Stenson, Art’s memory will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Art was a proud farmer and the original owner of Stenson’s Family Market, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Art’s life at the Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, receiving from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 P.M., with a Celebration of Life reception from 5-8pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 52, 1550 Lansdowne Street West.
