ST. AMAND, David Eli – Passed away peacefully at home in Belleville, surrounded by his family on December 18, 2024 at the age of 74 years, after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Born in Pembroke, Ontario, David was one of ten children to the late Margaret Sallans (St. Amand) and Thomas St. Amand. He is survived by his three daughters, Maggie St. Amand (Kenny), Jenny Rideout (Scott) and Kathy Hacke (Cornel). Additionally, he leaves behind seven grandsons, Travis (Delaney), Edward (Heather), Troy, Kyle, Byron, Adam (Bryssa) and Jason, along with one great-grandson, Gordon and great-granddaughter, Brinley.
David will always be remembered as a strong and hard-working man, who liked to work with his hands. He enjoyed his retirement years working in his garage on restoration projects and crafting wooden snakes. He cherished the hard work at the Sands family farm and loved fishing, whether it was in a boat on a hot sunny day or in the depths of winter on a frozen lake. David will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Respecting David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service at St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke will be announced in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to the Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke.
