Stephen Tanner 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with his loving wife Lana of almost 58 years by his side.
Stephen was a devoted father and father-in-law to Jason (Susan) and Adam (Marnie); adored Zaidie to Samantha, Molly, Jordyn and Evan; and cherished brother and brother-in-law to Marvin and Joyce Tanner, Stephen and Wendy Waxman and Sandra and the late Eli Hoffman. He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Claire Tanner.
Stephen was born and raised in Ottawa, where he lived to give back to his community through the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, Staples and B’nai Brith. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 1pm, at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street, Ottawa.
Shiva will be observed privately. Donations in Stephen’s memory to the Claire and Sam Tanner Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
