Obituary of Royden George Young
Our hearts are broken, so it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sweet father Royden “Mumpy” Young on July 27, 2024 at 98 years of age.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Mattice, the love of his life. Proud father of Sandy (Mike), Donnie (Nancy) and Nancy Martha.”Bumpy” was a treasured grandfather to Adam (Rebekha), Andrea (Jeremy), Rob (Jennifer), Scott (Fannie) and will be greatly missed by great-grandchildren Hailey, Brody, Quincy, Parker, Jack, Liam, Chloe, Cooper, Maisie and Neve. Survived by younger sister Betty. Adored nieces and nephews will miss their “Uncle Mumpy”.
Predeceased by his parents Edith Towers and Norma Young, siblings Thelma, Claude, James, Beverley, Eric, Mabel, Sybil, Joan and Walter.
Our family would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff of Chartwell Stillwater Creek Retirement Home who provided care and comfort to both our parents. We are grateful to the caring staff of Granite Ridge (Country) for the tender loving care they showered on our Dad during his stay.
Dad was loved and cherished by many and will be fondly remembered for his sweet smile and kind heart. Respecting of their wishes, a private family gathering will be held to honour both our parents.
