On September 22, we lost a man full of spirit and life, Robert “Bob” Kelso. Bob embodied the fierce and determined spirit of the Fighting Irish, approaching life with tenacity and strength, never backing down from a challenge. Though his demeanor could be tough, it was a reflection of the resilient character that defined him. Those who knew him understood his passion and the fire that drove him. His legacy will be remembered for his strength, perseverance, and unwavering will.
Bob was a builder of all things and spent many years abroad in Germany, proudly serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an MPP officer in the K9 unit, where he met his beloved wife, Karen. Together, they shared 57 wonderful years.
He is survived by his daughter, Brandianne Kelso (Edward Garson), and his two grandchildren, Abaigeal Kelso and Connor Kelso-Watts, who were his pride and joy. Predeceased by his sister, Moira Kelso, and brother, Byron Kelso, he is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Taylor (née Kelso), her husband, Paul Taylor, and his nephews, Troy and Trevor Taylor.
Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Margaret Kelso of Ottawa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 29th, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Wakefield Legion. All are welcome to join us in remembering Bob. Flowers to be sent directly to the Legion.
A donation to the La Maison Des Collines in Wakefield would be greatly appreciated in his memory. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the CLSC team for their excellent care and support, with special appreciation to Dr. Lajzerowicz and Marc Chenier for their dedicated efforts and caring hearts, they kept Karen’s “head above water”.
