Philippe est né le 28 avril 1932 à Sainte-Agathe, au Manitoba, et est décédé paisiblement à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa, entouré de sa famille, le 17 novembre 2023, à l’âge de 91 ans.
Il laisse dans le deuil Yolande Aubry (née Lussier), son épouse bien-aimée depuis 65 ans ainsi que leurs quatre enfants, Gérald (Denyse), Darcelle (Bernard), Diane (Chris) et Julie (Damian). Philippe était extrêmement fier et heureux de suivre les réalisations de ses petits-enfants, Annik (Cheeler), Dominik (Dan), Mathieu (Karlene) et Karine (Shayne) ainsi que de ses belles-petites-filles Emma et Sophie. Il chérissait d’être l’arrière-grand-père de Quinn, Tiesen, Jordan, Rowan, Vera et Cedric. Il laisse également dans le deuil sa sœur Rita (Reynaldo), ses belles-sœurs Simone Desilets et Simone Parent ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Ses parents Léo Paul et Clara (née Joyal) ainsi que ses frères et sœurs Irène, Jean-Paul o.m.i., Marcelle, Roland, Bernard, Étienne et Maria l’ont précédé dans la mort.
Philippe était fier de ses 36 années de service auprès de la GRC, avec des affectations au Manitoba, au Québec, à Paris, en France avec Interpol, au Nouveau-Brunswick, et, enfin, son plus long mandat à la Direction générale à Ottawa. Il a ensuite occupé pendant sept ans le poste de directeur de la sécurité ministérielle au ministère de la Justice. À la retraite, il aimait jouer au golf, aux quilles, passer du temps avec sa famille et jardiner dans la cour avec Yolande jusqu’à ce que la maladie de Parkinson ralentisse certaines de ses activités préférées.
La famille remercie chaleureusement le personnel de la Place Besserer pour les bons soins empreints de compassion qui lui ont été prodigués.
La famille recevra parents et amis au Complexe funéraire Héritage, 1250, chemin Trim, Orléans, le mercredi 29 novembre 2023 de 13 h à 14 h. Un service commémoratif aura lieu à 14 h, suivi d’une réception.
Le service sera également retransmis en direct sur le site Internet du complexe funéraire Héritage (www.heritagefh.ca).
Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à Parkinson Canada ou à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés.

Philippe was born on April 28, 1932, in Sainte-Agathe, Manitoba and passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital surrounded by family on November 17, 2023, at the age of 91.
He is survived by Yolande Aubry (née Lussier), his beloved wife of 65 years. Also left behind are their four children, Gérald (Denyse), Darcelle (Bernard), Diane (Chris) and Julie (Damian). Philippe took enormous pride and joy in following the accomplishments of his grandchildren, Annik (Cheeler), Dominik (Dan), Mathieu (Karlene) and Karine (Shayne) as well as his step-granddaughters Emma and Sophie. He cherished being a great-grandfather to Quinn, Tiesen, Jordan, Rowan, Vera and Cedric. He is also survived by his sister Rita (Reynaldo), his sisters-in-law Simone Desilets and Simone Parent and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Léo Paul and Clara (née Joyal) and his siblings Irène, Jean-Paul o.m.i., Marcelle, Roland, Bernard, Étienne and Maria.
Philippe was proud of his 36 years of Service in the RCMP, with postings in Manitoba, Québec, Paris, France with Interpol, New Brunswick, and finally his longest commission at Ottawa Headquarters. He then worked for another seven years as the Director of Departmental Security at the Department of Justice. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, spending time with family and puttering around the yard with Yolande until Parkinson’s disease slowed down some of his favourite activities.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Place Besserer for the wonderful and compassionate care bestowed upon him.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m., service to be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
The service will also be live streamed through the Heritage Funeral Complex (www.heritagefh.ca).
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Parkinson Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
