Obituary of Peter George Humber
The youngest of four children, Peter George Humber was born in Victoria, BC on August 19, 1948. Peter died peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2024. He leaves behind Anna Bilsky, his wife of 47 years, his children Lawrence and Sharon, their spouses Kaili and Jonathan, his grandchildren Emile and Eleanor, his siblings Jo, Phil, and John and their families, and his sister-in-law Millie and her husband Steve. Peter moved to Ottawa in January 1972 to start a job in the federal government with the Competition Bureau, where he spent his entire 34-year career. Not long after that move, he met Anna and made Ottawa home for good when they married in 1977. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who provided guidance and support through all times. Peter loved music of all genres, styles, and eras and was an avid fan of trivia and word games. Though he was never one to talk a lot, he was always the person with the right words to make you think, understand, or most of all, laugh. The family thanks Dr. Smith for her excellent care throughout his illness. For those who would like, in lieu of flowers, please provide a donation to a charity of your choice.
Friends are invited to Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road, on Monday December 30, 2024 at 2pm. Reception to follow.
