It is with very heavy hearts that we annouce the unexpected passing of Nicole at home in Ottawa on April 5, 2024, at the age of 37. Lovingly remembered by her partner, Jan Jones and his son, Mikka, parents, Claude and Nancy Maurice, brothers Luc and his wife, Danielle and their son, Marco, and André and his wife, Danika and their daughters, Mila and Lily.
Nicole completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Brock University in 2008 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa in 2015. She also obtained the CAE designation (Canadian Association Executive) from the Canadian Society of Association Executives. She was employed by LiveCA and was working towards her CPA designation.
Nicole loved playing board games with friends and family, video games, and reading detective novels. She loved being physically active whether it was going for a jog, rock climbing or working out. She also loved to eat and her obsession was bacon…crispy bacon…really loved bacon! And the turkey stuffing too!
One of Nicole’s passions was to participate in fundraising for the Kids Help Phone which supports mental health and wellbeing. She has been involved with mental health improvements for years.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on April 13, 2024 at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt), Ottawa, with visitation commencing at 10:30 am, chapel service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and a reception to follow.
