The family is deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Nadia Kassyousef, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 32 years, Joseph Kassyousef.
Nadia Kassyousef was the loving mother to Fayez (Dounia), Mary-Rose Yared (the late Nassif), Fayza, Elie (Isabelle), and George (Molly). Devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother Joseph and sisters Janet, Josephine, Ugenee, Georgette, Feriyal, and Amal. Predeceased by her parents Toros and Marine, her late brother Joudat, and sister Alice. Nadia will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
After moving to Ottawa, Canada, in 1984 with her two children, Elie and George, Nadia worked as a seamstress. She found joy in cooking, gardening, and cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren.
Nadia will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her incredible cooking, and the warmth she brought to family gatherings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Tubman Funeral Homes – Westboro Chapel, 403 Richmond Road, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 750 Ridgewood Avenue, at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
