Marion Elizabeth Lachance, daughter of the late Mildred Boyd and Leonard Rose (Gracie) and wife of the late Lucien Rene Lachance, died peacefully in the early morning hours on Friday, November 24th at the age of 95 at the Bruyère Saint Louis long term care residence with family by her side.
Born in Aurora, Ontario, Marion was the middle and last surviving of five siblings, Florence (Marshal), Earl (Mary), Lillian (Gordon) and Vivian (Howard). She leaves to mourn her children, Michele (Derrick Upton), Denis (Diane) and Jean-Pierre (Karen Anderson) as well as her ex-daughter-in-law, Louise. She was predeceased by her son Daniel. Affectionately known by everyone who met her as Nana, she will be forever missed by her grandchildren Renee, Megan (Morgan Reid), Andre (Annie), Philippe (Alexandra), Marc, Samuel and Jenna as well as four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Corinne, Bennett and Fletcher. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion joined the Armed Forces and trained as a dental assistant. It was there that she met her best friend, soul mate and husband of 62 years, Rene. Theirs was a love story that transcended all barriers as neither spoke the others language when they first met.
The Family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt thank you and appreciation to all the staff at the Bruyère Saint Louis residence for all the help, guidance, patience and care they provided our mother while she was entrusted to their care. Words will never express the extent of our gratitude.
There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Bruyère Continuing Care would be gratefully appreciated.
