Daughter of William Scott Hamilton, Beloved wife of Harry Ala-Kantti
She leaves behind her two sons Kurt (Carla) and Erik (Lori), 9 Grandchildren, Aleisha (Francis), Jesse (Sarah), Ashley, Brandon, Abby, Alex, Sydney, Casey and Cooper as well as 6 soon to be 7 Great Grandchildren, Max, Layla, Benjamin, Lily, Evie, Eva and a new baby girl to arrive in January.
Leaving her job in the public service when her first child was born, Marilyn was an active volunteer, serving on the Cumberland Library Board from its inception, continuing on to the Eastern Ontario Regional Library Board, Ontario Choral Federation, and served as Choir Manager for the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir for over 20 years. An avid choral singer, she sang from the 1950’s in the Ottawa Choral Society, until becoming a founding member of her son’s Harmonia Choir in 2003, as well as singing in the Cumberland Community Singers and the choir of St Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, or Harmonia Choir.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 2345 Alta Vista Dr. Ottawa on Saturday December 9th at 10 am.
