Obituary of Judith Irwin (nee Laverty)
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Judith Irwin on Sunday June 16th surrounded by her loving family. Judi was the loving mother of Tracey (Coulis) and Jennifer (Gethings), Mother in-law to Albert Coulis and Ralph Gethings. Judi was the daughter of Jim and Laurine Laverty (deceased) and loving sister to Brenda and Jimmy (deceased). She was married to the love of her life, Richard Irwin in 1969 until his passing in 1999. They were a shining example of what love is all about. She enjoyed dancing and singing, trips to the casino, road trips with her family, dinners out and puppy parties. Judi was an eternal optimist who believed in showing kindness to everyone and stealing hugs from anyone she could. She was Grammie to countless puppies and always had treats ready to give any dog who passed by her house.
Judi loved her job and never wanted to retire. She valued all of her friendships and never took a day for granted. Her ability to find hope, positivity and laughter in even the darkest of times is an inspiration to anyone who had the good fortune of meeting her.
A Service will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish at 44 Rothesay Dr. in Kanata at 11am on Thursday, June 20th, followed by coffee and tea at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Judi wished for donations to be made to the Ottawa Food Bank.
