Obituary of John Lush
It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to John on October 22nd, 2024. He was surrounded by the love of his family at home when he slipped away, after losing his battle to cancer. A loving husband to Martha, and a loving and devoted father to Alli and Erin, furry friends Lexi, Rory and Cooper, John will be forever missed.
John was born in Peterborough Ontario on December 8th, 1959, the second son of the late Wayne and Marie Lush, and brother to Gordon, Bob and Donna. After university, John met and then and followed Martha to Ottawa, where they established a new life.
John loved life, always ready for a joke, and spending time with his family and friends. The cottage was where he was happiest, spending time on the dock and boat, sharing a few beers with everyone who stopped by. He will be remembered for his incredible optimism in the face of all the challenges life gave him, especially during his battle with cancer.
We invite his friends to join us in celebrating his life on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Heart and Crown, 353 Preston Street, starting at 5:00 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date. Should you wish to honour John, and in lieu of flowers, donations to CHEO would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at colefunerlservices.com.
