Décédé paisiblement entouré de sa famille le 1er octobre 2023 à l’âge de 81 ans. Il était le fils de feu Lucien Franche et de feu Alda Franche (née Faubert) et l’époux bien-aimé depuis 56 ans de mariage à Suzanne Franche (née Jolicoeur). Il laisse dans le chagrin ses enfants adorés ; Marc (Lisa), Gilles (Paula) et Josée. Grand-père chéri de Matthieu, Sydnée, Chloé, Luc et Sophie.
Jean-Yves était très fier d’avoir travailler pour Molson pendant 25 ans de sa carrière. Il a joué au hockey semi-professionnel pour les Stars de Syracuse et à la crosse professionnelle pour Montréal et Sherbrooke. Il aimait voyager avec sa femme et ses amis.
La famille tient à remercier les préposés aux services, spécialement Hervé, Cheryl, Marie-Thérèse, Fanïse et les médecins des soins palliatifs pour tous leurs merveilleux soins prodigués.
Une messe commémorative aura lieu le mardi le 10 octobre 2023 à 11h à la Paroisse St-Joseph d’Orléans (2757, boulevard St-Joseph, Orléans, ON). La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 10h.
Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Société Canadienne du Cancer seraient grandement appréciés.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 1, 2023 at the age of 81 years. He was the son of the late Lucien Franche and the late Alda Franche (nee Faubert) and beloved husband of 56 years of marriage to Suzanne Franche (nee Jolicoeur). He leaves in sadness his adored children; Marc (Lisa), Gilles (Paula) and Josée. Cherished grandfather of Matthieu, Sydnée, Chloé, Luc, and Sophie.
Jean-Yves proudly worked for Molson for 25 years. He played semi pro hockey for Syracuse Stars and professional lacrosse for Montreal and Sherbrooke. He loved to travel with his wife and friends.
The family would like to thank the personal support workers especially Hervé, Cheryl, Marie-Thérèse, Fanïse and the doctors of palliative care for all their amazing care provided.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St-Joseph Parish, 2757 St-Joseph Boulevard, Orleans, ON. Family will receive condolences from 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
