Born in Moonbeam, Ontario, passed away while surrounded by family members on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Bruyère Health Saint-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa.
Wilfrid is survived by two children, Tina (Patrice) Fortin and Jasmine Drolet. Predeceased by his son Jason Duquette. He is survived by three grandchildren, Sebastien Lortie, Brianna Duquette and Eric Drolet-Benoit.
Wilfrid was part of a large family, which he held dear throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Aldege Duquette and Emerentiana (Tina) Ladouceur Duquette. His siblings are Helene (Leo) Clement, Alfred (Lise) Duquette Dolores (Steve) McPhee, Ronald Duquette, Lise (Paul) Trudel, and Jacques Duquette. Predeceased siblings: Eugene Duquette, Richard Duquette, Bernadette Aubertin and Andre Duquette.
Wilfrid was uncle to 28 nieces and nephews, Michel, Daniel, Robert, Elizabeth, Sylvie, Léo, Lee, Adam, Mark, Tammy, Nicole, Sherry, David, Donna, Danny, Rosie, Nicole, Doris, Carole, Nathalie, Nancy, Josee, Robert, Pamela, Chantal, Christiane, Shawn, and Kevin.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held in the Spring, details to be provided at a later date.
Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or Cancer research would be appreciated by the family.
