Obituary of Ilse von Harscher (nee Kaufeld)
Sunrise: January 5, 1932 in Lautentahl Oberharz, Germany. Sunset: June 25, 2024 in Ottawa Ontario, Canada
She is survived by her only daughter, Heidi von Harscher and Andre Henry, from Hollywood, Florida.
Predeceased by her husband Fred, her parents August and Erna, her baby sister, Heidelinde (Dave Bell) who lived with her in Canada and many of her siblings.
Survived by her brother Hans (Ava), her nieces Melli, Carola (great niece, Svenja), her nephew Ritchie and their families. Also survived by Harry, Gaby and Myrna von Harscher and all of Ilse’s very large family in Germany.
She lived a strong life. Brilliant with numbers and very meticulous. Her hard work helped make fortunes for many companies as a Chartered Accountant.
She loved her second home in Florida. But mostly she loved her home in Ottawa, in ‘Poet’s Corners’. She took great pride in her garden. She relished the thrill of winning at the Casino. She enjoyed the kindness of her neighbors and friends. Her passion was sports, which she shared with her dear friend Derrick. They enthusiastically shared sports stats, especially for baseball (Blue Jays) and hockey (Maple Leafs). She will be missed by Heidi’s and Andre’s dear friends Barb and Scott, Michelle and Sammy, and Marina.
Ilse had many interests and talents, however, her greatest pride and joy was to provide her daughter, Heidi, with a beautiful life.
I’ve been so lucky to have you as my mom. She will be missed.
A visitation will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 10am until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11 am. Inurnment and reception to follow.
