It is with heavy hearts, the family announce that Gayle Viola Ionia Cartwright (Oake) passed away peacefully, in the presence of her son and grandchildren, at Queensway Carleton Hospital on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 75, in Nepean, Ontario. Born on March 12, 1949, in Deer Lake, Newfoundland, Canada, Gayle was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a devoted follower of Christ.
Gayle is survived by her son, John Paul Cartwright; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Cartwright; and grandson, Jack William Ewald Cartwright. Known for her warm presence and nurturing spirit, Gayle cherished moments spent with her family, creating a home filled with love and kindness.
A celebration of Gayle’s life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support Cystic Fibrosis Research, a cause close to her heart. Gayle’s legacy of love and devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.
