Garry passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, December 15th at the age of 71.
Garry is survived by his wife Jacinthe, his daughter Jody (Dave Clarke), his son Shaun (Chrissy) and his grandchildren, Payton, Lyam, Aiden, Wyatt and Audrey. Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Jeannine Edwards (nee Lachance) and his brother Bryan. Also remembered by his brother Danny (Sally Andrews) and sister Sandie (Lindsay Rivard) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Garry was retired from the House of Commons and also served as a Municipal Councillor for the City of Clarence-Rockland from 2006 – 2014 representing the ward of Bourget, ON. Garry was well known as a dedicated volunteer in his community.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life on Wednesday, December 27th from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd. Orleans, ON.
Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Garry.
