Obituary of Christine von Moos
Christine von Moos (née Rust) passed away early in the morning of December 22, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife to Peter, cherished mother to Elisabeth (Martin) and Thomas (Kristy), devoted grandmother to David, and caring sister to Ursula (Zeev), Therese (Max), and Barbara (Marcel). She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Margaretha Lina Rust-Scholl.
Born and raised in Switzerland, she met Peter in an English class, and they married and moved to Canada together in 1978. She loved her adopted country fiercely. Trained as a nurse (twice, once in Switzerland and again in Canada) she dedicated her life to caring for others.
We are awed by the strength she showed throughout the ups and downs of her life, as well as in the face of her difficult diagnosis. Her dedicated nature and her kindness towards her family, her friends, the natural world, and the next generations will never be forgotten.
We miss you so much.
If you wish, you can make a donation in her memory to the Fletcher Wildlife Garden in Ottawa , or the ALS Society of Canada . We will celebrate Christine’s life in the Spring, when the warm sun welcomes back the flowers, bugs, and birds she loved.
