Obituary of Bert Francis Monin
Bert Francis Monin age 94, of Ottawa passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024.
Bert worked as a printer with the British American Banknote for most of his career. In his retirement he loved viewing nature unfold at the 180 acres of bush property he owned between Clarendon Station and Maberly, Ontario. His second passion was his music studies and playing his harmonica, steel guitar, piano and violin.
Bert is survived by his children Linda Larsh (John) of Windsor, Michael and Stephen of Tichborne, Laurie Wilson (Donald) of Ottawa, Sharron of Ottawa and grandchildren Lee (Kathryn), Erica (Willie) and great grandchildren Grace and Finley along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by spouse June 1931-2020 (nee Eye) parents John Monin and Daisy (nee Eggens), sister Lyn Lytle (Bill) and brother John (Noreen).
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical and Palliative Care Unit staff of the Montfort Hospital as well as the Care Team and staff of Orchard Walk Retirement Centre.
A Visitation/Reception will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 between 1 and 3 pm at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Private burial at a later date.
