It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of André Durocher of Ottawa on August 30, 2024, at the age of 63. André was taken far too early after a brief battle with cancer. André was the beloved husband of Glenys Peters, with whom he shared the last 35 years.
Born on December 6, 1960, Andre lived his life on his own terms, based on his values. He enjoyed hiking and canoeing, adventures in nature, golfing, fixing anything, and shopping for deals. André had an innate curiosity and interest in those he met, making meaningful connections throughout his life and was greatly loved by his inner circle.
Andre worked as a Sales professional in a variety of industries (Industrial equipment, Software services, HVAC systems, Cars, Mortgages, Yellow pages, etc.) before becoming an Energy Auditor and Home Inspector. He was also a caregiver extraordinaire to his mother-in-law.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters Madeleine (Gilles Cyr) and Suzanne (Ben Dulude), and nephews Patrick, Michel, Clint and Kevin, as well as Myrtha Lapierre, Cletus Peters, Camrose Burdon, Oliver Peters, and friends. Andre was predeceased by his parents Gerard Durocher and Jeanette Lepage.
A special thank you to the palliative team – Dr. Goindi and nurses Helene, Mark and Allison for their compassionate and respectful care.
Though André may not be beside us, he is always with us, forever in our hearts and memories. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday October 24th, 2024 at 6pm at the Hyatt Ottawa West (300 Moodie Drive).
For those wishing to honor Andre’s memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charitable cause of your choice in lieu of flowers.
