It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our son Derrick Dale Albert, who passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa following a brave battle with cancer on December 23, 2024. Derrick was 48 years old and he was born in Corner Brook Newfoundland on, August 17,1976.
He is predeceased by his Grandparents Arthur and Christina Vincent, and Grandfather Edlow Albert; his Aunts: Tracy Sheppard, Elaine Park, and Cynthia Vincent; his Uncles: Eric Humber, and William O’keefe.
Mourning his loss are his beloved parents, his mother Roseanne Albert (nee Vincent) and his father Floyd Albert of Oshawa, On., his children Daine, Marlow, Emrey, and his Grandmother Meme Albert. Also mourning are his amazing loving aunts and uncles, Mary Humber, Ellen (Derrick) Dormody, Ruby (Bill) MacDonald, Artie (Mary) Vincent, Bonnie (Jerome) Evoy, Louise (Harold) Revells, Jim Vincent, Judy Vincent, Frank Vincent, Ted (Wanda) Vincent, Nancy Keech, Dean Sheppard (Cecilia), Rodney Park, Brenda Mae (Wade) Gavin, Steward (Susan) Albert, and Darlene (Roy) Chassion.
He will be dearly missed by a large circle of cousins and friends in Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Oshawa. Derrick dearly loved his three children Daine, Marlow, and Emrey. They were his world.
He loved outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, camping or just sitting around a fire with family and friends. He loved music especially playing his guitar with his friend T.J. and going to concerts with his friend John. Derrick had a very large circle of friends. The bonds he made were strong enough to last a lifetime.
Derrick had the biggest, kindest, most loving heart there was. His smile would brighten any room and he gave the best bear hugs.
To all his family and friends I just want you all to know how much Derrick cherished and loved each one of you. Soar with the eagles moms man, love you so much. Until we meet again.
At his request cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
