DAVID ROY BURTON
(June 20, 1935 – November 14, 2024)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 14, 2024 at the age of 89. Roy will be loved and missed by his wife Shirley, his children Wendy (Liz), Bonny (Ron), Larry (Una), Donna, Karen (Jeff), Ken (Jean) and Linda (Brian). Beloved grandpa to his 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Bill, Walter, and Harry and sisters Jean and Carol. Fondly remembered by his surviving brother John (Sue) and his many nieces and nephews. Treasured by his many friends who he cherished his time with. Roy lived a full life of love, dedication and passion to his family, the roofing industry and his AA Fellowship. He loved to play hockey in his younger days and was well known as a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. He was also the mastermind of countless social events as well as many humorous shenanigans and family food fights. He is now at peace and will forever be in our hearts and in our memories. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the RS McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre (lhfoundation.ca) in Oshawa.
