Passed away peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia on Thursday October 10th , 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Thomson (2018). Loving mother of John Thomson – predeceased, Douglas (Dorothy), Leslie Hewitt (Murray) and Jim (Judy). Cherished grandmother of Justin, Kurtis, Jordan, Aaron (Sheri), Sarah (Jeremy), Josh (Lisa), Joanna, Drew, Brodie-predeceased, Brett (Makella) and great grandmother of 13. Dear sister of Caryl and predeceased by her siblings, Ralph, Irene, Frank, and Dorothy. Verna will be dearly missed and remembered by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Mariposa House Hospice or to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street Orillia (705) 327 0221.
