McVie, Frances Marjorie
Fran passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Monday October 21st, 2024, at the age of 86. Fran was born in Stouffville and raised in Bethesda by her parents Roy and Marjorie Smith. Beloved wife of David McVie for 66 years. Loving mother of John McVie (Lisa), and Lisa Deletroz (late Eric). Proud grandmother of Lauren and Taylor. Dear sister of the late Ron Smith (Gertrude). They raised their family in Markham where Fran enjoyed many activities including curling at The Unionville Curling Club. Dave and Fran moved to Bayshore Village where they had an active retirement and most recently, they’ve enjoyed a slower pace in Leacock Retirement Lodge. Fran loved a scotch and a game of cards with family and friends, we will never forget her contagious laugh and sharp wit, she will be fondly remembered. A Service to celebrate Fran’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Wednesday October 30th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
