It is with great sadness that Marty’s family announce his passing at home, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at age 69. Cherished husband of Denise Babcock (née Baillargeon). Loving father of Dave Smith (Katie) and Anthony Babcock (Steven) and proud grandfather of Charlotte. Dearly missed by siblings Faye Smith (William), Alan Babcock (Melinda) and Nancy Babcock, as well as sisters-in-law Annette Parker (Brian), Cheryl Gallant (Mark) and Michele Shaver (John). Son of the late William and Margaret Babcock. Predeceased by his mother-in-law Norma, his father-in-law Raymond and brother-in-law Guy Baillargeon. Marty will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Marty spent his working life as a mechanic. He was a gifted organist and played at St. Alban’s Anglican Church for over 50 years.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 67 Main Street, Odessa on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11 am. A reception will follow. For those desiring, memorial donations to St. Alban’s Anglican Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
